About the Artist

I began painting at the end of 2023, having maintained a lifelong interest in photography, horticulture, and garden/interior design. Before 2023 I specialised in underwater photography being an Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and was lucky enough to win a Gold Medal for my work at the NEC Dive Exhibition. I think the vibrancy of the underwater world triggered a latent interest in being able to actually create the images I saw, using my own hands rather than just through a lens.
My appreciation of landscapes, animals, marine life and plants encouraged me to start exploring painting and drawing. In the brief period since I began, I have experimented with various mediums, developing a preference for watercolour and inks due to their fluidity. Amongst others, I also started exploring working in mixed media, collage, and mark-making techniques, acquiring skills through tutorials and collaboration with my fellow artists. I am continuing to develop my artistic style and I look forward to its evolution. I take my inspiration from the natural world around me and in the Cambridgeshire village, which I am fortunate enough to have lived in all my life.
In 2024, I established the Riverside Art Group – a local art community that convenes weekly in Hemingford Abbots. We are preparing for our first art exhibition at the Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival in June 2025.
In Spring 2025, I had the honour of submitting work to the Houghton Mill Art Exhibition, where my Dragonfly watercolour was selected for their inaugural exhibition.
This website is dedicated to showcasing my artwork to a broader audience, with paintings available for purchase. Please contact me if anything catches your eye.
Alongside my painting, I also craft fairy houses.
